[Hey there, Vatheon! Time for a homely little broadcast of a cozy looking ... stable? Since when did Vatheon have horses? Must be new. The screen pans slowly, revealing a vast open field, bordered by a rickety white fence. Sora's voice speaks off screen:]

Hey guys- check out what showed up at Nostalgia Nook!

[And then woa! Fluffy yellow feathers invade the screen. The SFC shakes as the person holding it begins to laugh. Sora swivels the SFC on himself. His hood is caught in the beak of a rather large bird. Behind him are several more, nearly twice Sora's height and scattered throughout the field.]

They're called Chocobos. Some are pretty friendly. The guy at the stable? He says I can have one if I take good care of it! [Another Chocobo head bobs into the screen, nibbling at the end of a spike of Sora's hair. He doesn't seem to mind.] You can even ride them, but you gotta train em' first.

Oh. And when you sing, sometimes they'll dance. Watch!

[The screen swivels around, squaring on an unassuming Chocobo several yards ahead. Sora clears his throat, and begins to whistle a tune. The bird in question quirks its head at the SFC and surprise, surprise, it actually begins to dance! It bobs, sways, rolls its head, warking rather excitedly, drawing attention of other ones nearby who more or less begin to do the same.]

[Just when things start getting interesting, that's when it all stops: there's a loud, irritated wark right behind the SFC. Sora has halted his musical performance and the screen has wandered away from the dancing chocobo as if Sora has become distracted offscreen. Could be trouble...]

Uhh.... hey there... You want some greens, is that it?

I'm sure I've got some around here. Hang on a sec....H-hey!

Wait, what're you - Oh no!!

[The screen finally jerks around, catching a flash Sora being tugged backwards, his hood caught in the beak of a rather irate looking bird. The broadcast stops.]

Sounds better than what my guess would've been. You think I'd be able to find a place that sells recuperacoons and sopor slime?

[Smooth moves, Flynn! You've got the Chocobo's attention. It swivels its head around at the tune before trudging over to the fence with Sora stumbling in tow.]

S-slow down!

[He gives Flynn a helpless smile.]

[Sora's not being dragged anymore, but he's not making progress in getting away from this particular Chocobo. Now it's pulling at his sleeve, but at least they've stopped moving.]

You mean like under its chin? You sure about this?

[He really wants to keep his fingers.]

[She's nodding while trying not to laugh]

Kinda? But I think it's just being playful. And anyway, it seems to really like you.

[Selphie... you're pretty cool all grown up!]

Now I wanna try too! Maybe we can ask the guy in charge if he's trained any yet.

[It's like looking into a big, yellow mirror.]

...Kweh?

[Blink]

Why'd you make them stop dancing, Sora?

[ooc: I'm sorry, you're getting both of my muses today. Yuna had to see chocobos. And Raenef couldn't not see chocobos. ._.]

Could've fooled me.

[Well... it's worth a shot. Sora lifts his hand, tentatively. The Chocobo peers down at his hand and Sora hesitates.]

Uhh... So what happens if it doesn't like you?

Recuper-what now? [He makes a face. Supor slime sounds like something he'd find in a swamp.] I've never even heard of that stuff.

*Enthusiastic nodding*

Uh huh! And if he hasn't, then I wanna try training one! You should pick one out for me!

Recuperacoon. It's this pod thing - a cocoon you recuperate in. It's filled with sopor slime, and then you sleep in that so you don't dream about death and carnage. It's a troll thing.

I don't like to sleep myself, but there's others here who would probably want them.

More like I- [There's a pause as Sora is pestered by the same bird. He pushes it away long enough to answer (though it isn't long before the Chocobo is up to the same mischief all over again).]

I got kinda distracted. Hey Raenef...

[Raenef can probably see the culprit behind him now, looming over him, peering at the SFC.]

Oh. [That's ... not strange at all. Nope.] Yeah, that'd probably do you guys some good. I'll let you know if I spot any.

[A Chocobo head bobs into the screen behind him, staring curiously at the SFC.]

You know, sleeping more would probably put you in a better mood.

Well, I know which one I shouldn't pick...

Yeah?

[And Raenef does see the culprit. But instead of looking alarmed, he waves quite happily. These choke-a-boughs are so funny!]

Hi Fred! It's not nice to sneak up on Sora, you know.

Ah... It might snap at you. So, pet carefully.

[Yuna looks on a little worried for him. Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all...]

Did... you just call this thing Fred?

The pods vary in color and shape, but sopor slime is bright green, if it helps. I'll probably go look myself sometime.

[Karkat just glares at the Chocobo.]

Lack of sleep hasn't got anything to do with this, idiot. I've been this way since even before I started not sleeping. I'm not eager to start again, either, particularly when the Lamufao means I can do it without feeling too exhausted.

[Luckily, Yuna's instincts are right on the mark. Sora reaches off screen. There's a silence. And there's a pleased whistle from the bird in question.]

You know, I think it worked!

It's not a thing, Sora. It's a chocolatebo.

[Duh.]

And yeah! It looks like a Fred, doesn't it?

Oh, good! I was a little worried, for a moment.

[She'd have to thank Clasko one day...]

Ah! I'm sorry. I didn't ask your name.

If you say so...

Then again, I wouldn't wanna dream about that stuff either.

Let's just hope they don't drop anymore pirate ships. Other half of the coral's still not looking too good.

Chocobos, as in, the huge giant useful birds that his parents didn't ever want to get him, mostly because they weren't pet people but also because it just seemed, somehow, like a bad idea to them.

But Lea is ignoring that.

Since Sora is clearly occupied, Lea doesn't even bother to talk on the SFC. He just gets on his A-T and gets there as quick as his excitable ass can get him.]}

[Sora owes him too! The bird's leaning into his hand now, turning its head slightly in response.]

I'm Sora! And you are?

No, no, that's not the reason. The sopor slime makes that manageable anyway. I just really hate giving anything a chance to sneak up on me, and the best way to avoid that is not sleeping.

That half is still working, so I'm not too twisted up about it. Not that I'm eager for anymore bullshit like that.

[While Lea's on his mad dash towards the field in the Lower District, Sora's pretty busy trying to reclaim his jacket for himself. Luckily the Chocobo lets go of his hood in favor of trying to nip at his SFC, which Sora shoves into his pocket for safekeeping. Just in case.]
